Teresa Dillard Recycled Fashion and Wearable Art

Inspired by her love of vintage clothing, yard-sale finds and consignment store treasures, and her background in sculpture and fine art textiles, Teresa Dillard has created her own style of wearable designs and textile sculpture.

Starting with “pre-owned” textiles, primarily wool, Teresa uses a process of “felting” the fabric to create a reconstructed structure of meshed fibers, building a tighter, sturdier fabric. She then, using vintage, felted, as well as new, elements, applies her unique style of design and graphic vision to each individual piece. Every piece has it's own identity, it's own unique statement.

Teresa's work has a playful feel, yet has a dimension of the primitive, almost tribal icon. Most of her designs are unabashedly joyful and childlike, some are more questioning and challenging.

Her work started with children's sweaters, and has evolved to include adult fashions, home and fashion accessories, and traditional fine art.
